Junior and Young Rider Steeplechase Clinic • 3/12/17
11AM, Sunday, March 12th
If you’re interested in joining in on the fun of junior racing this spring… this is a do not miss! You’ll learn everything you need to know! Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to do anything you are not comfortable with. Jumping not required. Riders must bring their own mounts and will be grouped by ability and experience. Anyone under 21 is welcome provided they can demonstrate control over their mount at the walk, trot and canter.
Instructors: James Stierhoff , Bethany Baumgardner, Regina Welsh, Casey Pinkard, Eric Poretz, and more TBA!
A representative of the MSA Board of Directors will be present at the clinic in the event that any prospective competitors in the Junior Field Master Chases seek to be certified as qualified to compete in the Spring of 2016. Candidates seeking certification should be able to canter/hand gallop in a group safely, and should be able to jump a series of fences approximately 2’3 to 2’6” in a group, safely, while at a canter/hand gallop and following a field master. While this ability level is not required to attend this Clinic, it will be required by the MSA certifier of those seeking certification.
This is your chance to school over a REAL racecourse and to also have a test go around the Howard County Cup Races Field Master’s Chase… so don’t miss out!
Early bird gets the discount $25 if paid by 3/7, $30 after. Those who have not filled out a registration form and submit with payment are not considered to be registered. To receive the discount your payment must be postmarked by 3/7.
The official MSA pony measurement steward MAY possibly be on hand before the clinic to measure ponies. Please check back to confirm. Note, ALL ponies must be measured if they are planning on running in a race at any point.
