The 2024 Maryland Governor’s Cup Series

The countdown begins! Spring officially starts at the vernal equinox on March 19th, but the physical page turn of the calendar (Some of us still use ink on paper – don’t be judgey!) on March 1 is enough for us to say “spring is here!”

Once again, the Foxhall Farm Cup Team Chase, Sunday March 17th, kicks of the spring steeplechase season. Have you been legging up your “chasing” horse? Insert “fox” or “steeple” as appropriate, as Foxhall accommodates all!

There are two ways to get updated information about Foxhall. Option 1 is to click here to download the 2024 Maryland Steeplechase Race Conditions. This will give you not only each meet’s individual conditions but the conditions for each Series end award. Option 2 is to click this link for Foxhall on Facebook.

Foxhall will be again by hosted by the Green Spring Valley Hounds and held at Wit’s End. Please note the most significant change to this year’s card is the requirement that all horses must be on the grounds no later than a half-hour prior to Post Time, 1pm. ANY horse deemed late to the start may be scratched. This will keep the day running crisp and tight!

As noted above, the 2024 Conditions Book is now available! We have digital and print options:

DIGITAL: Click here to see a PDF of the book or to download the PDF

PRINT: For those of us who like our good ol’ fashion ink-on-paper (AGAIN don’t be judgey!), Condition Book for $10 (approximately 40% of the fee goes to MSA, so purchasing the Conditions Book does put a little more coin in our purse for future use!). Click here to order your print edition!

PLEASE NOTE: if a race meet makes changes to its conditions, the Condition Book will be updated, so please continue to check back and monitor our website and social media to be made aware of these important adjustments.

Point collection for the 2024 Governor’s Cup Series began in fall of 2023 with the Legacy Chase and the Cattail Chase. Those points will be posted once we start posting the spring points.
