“Raven’s Choice, making his first start since being placed first in last year’s Maryland Hunt Cup, kicked off his 2016 season with a clear victory over And the Eagle Flys in the $30,000 Grand National at Butler, Md., on Saturday. Owned by Ann Jackson and trained by Todd Wyatt, Raven’s Choice ran the Grand National’s 3 1/4 miles in 6:43 on firm ground.
The Maryland-bred winner, ridden by Mark Beecher, reached the finish line three lengths clear of And the Eagle Flys, who was making his first start since the 2014 Hunt Cup. Serene Harbor, the 2015 Grand National winner, finished third.”
