Conditions Update – April 4, 2016

Eligibility for the Junior Field Masters Chase at the Grand National Steeplechase will include those riders who have been clinic certified in 2016.

The conditions for the Thomas L. MacFarlane Memorial Junior Field Master’s Chase at The Grand National on Saturday April 23 have been updated (update in red bold): All riders must meet the qualifications of 7a or 7b or 7c of the Maryland Steeplechase Association’s General Conditions.

Junior Field Master Chase Practice
Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 5 p.m.
The Hundred Acre Field
Glyndon, Maryland

The Rising Horsemen and the Maryland Steeplechase Association are sponsoring a final session for any junior or young rider interested in participating Junior Field Master Chases.

Riders will have the opportunity to canter and jump in a group and then participate in a mock FMC following a field master crosscountry over a 8-10 fences.  Riders and their mounts should be prepared to jump 2’ 6”.

An MSA representative will be available for those who wish to be certified.

$20.00 per rider not seeking qualification certification (to Rising Horseman)

$30 per rider seeking qualification certification (to Maryland Steeplechase Association)

Practice is open to all Juniors and Young Riders.

Still need to have a pony measured for pony racing? When registering for the practice session, please indicate so and MSA will attempt to accommodate.
