The Green Spring Valley Hounds Pt-to-Pt kicked off the 2016 Maryland Steeplechase Association Governor’s Cup Series this past weekend in Hunt Valley, MD. The race meet hosted nine races, opening with a win in the Heavy Weight Timber from first time timber starter Charge, owned by Black and Blue Stables, Forrest Kelly in the irons for trainer Lia McGuirk. Todd McKenna took home trophies as a trainer in the Open and Novice Timber with Serene Harbor and Golden Slammer respectively, Annie Yeager up.
Bethany Baumgardner took a tumble on Kinross Farm’s Schoolhouse Woods in the Worthington Bowl Open Timber reported via Facebook on Saturday evening that she suffered partially collapsed lung, an abrasion on her kidney, and two broken vertebrae in my neck. Baumgardner wishes her mounts the best of luck this spring and is looking forward to a speedy recovery and getting back in the tack as soon as she can.
