The Foxhall Team Chase marked the start of the 2024 spring season in Cockeysville, MD on Sunday, March 17th. Sixteen teams were entered in the fastest time division and fifteen teams opted for the average time. Three Maryland hunts (Elkridge-Harford, Green Spring Valley, Mount Carmel), one Pennsylvania hunt (Cheshire Hounds), and one Virginia hunt (Piedmont Fox Hounds) had teams complete the course from Wit’s End Farm in Green Spring territory.

For the sixth year in a row, Elkridge-Harford took home the Foxhall Farm Trophy. Quite A Journey ridden by Eliza Henderson, Jarir ridden by McKenna O’Neil, and Market Bubble ridden by Colin Smith finished the course in 7 minutes 27 seconds. The reigning champs from Elkridge, team of Teddy Davies, Theresa Dimpfel, and Ashton Williams, finished second. Elkridge also took the third spot with Green Spring taking fourth.

(L-R) Katherine Chorosinski, Cappy Jackson, Rachel Blakey

The Full Cry average time was won by the team of Cappy Jackson on Leopard Cat, Rachel Blakey on Birdie, and Katherine Chorosinski on Winston, representing the Green Spring Valley Hounds. They completed the course in 12:24.21.

It was a great showing of foxhunters, retired timber horses (Cornhusker, Prime Prospector, Class Indian), and horses gearing up for the spring timber season including some Hunt Cup nominees. Many thanks to Green Spring and Wit’s End for hosting, all of the landowners, and volunteers for making the day a success.
